Your rebate program is determined by whoever sends your electric bill. If Eversource or National Grid powers your home, you’re covered by Mass Save®. If your electricity comes from a Municipal Light Plant, you’re enrolled in that town’s separate program, with its own rules, eligibility requirements, and rebate amounts.

Mass Save Heat Pump Rebates
Mass Save is funded by Eversource and National Grid, and it covers the majority of towns Peach Heat and Cool serve. If either utility provides your electricity, you qualify for a heat pump or ductless mini-split rebate in 2026. It's the largest heat pump incentive program in the state, and for most homeowners reading this, it's the program that matters.
- Whole-Home Rebate: $2,650 per ton, up to $8,500
- Partial-Home Rebate: $1,125 per ton, up to $8,500
- Basic Rebate: $250 per ton, up to $2,500
- Equipment must use R-32 or R-454B refrigerant
TMLP Saves — Taunton and Raynham
Taunton and some parts of Raynham are served by the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant . The Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant has a rebate program separate from Mass Save, administered through Energy New England and Abode Energy Management. Raynham is split between TMLP and Eversource depending on your exact address, which is why "check your bill first" saves you a headache.

MMED Program — Mansfield
Mansfield is served by the Mansfield Municipal Electric Department, with rebates running through NextZero and Energy New England. Here's the thing about Mansfield: the money is limited each year, and it usually runs dry before the year is out. If you're in Mansfield, applying early in the calendar year is the single most useful thing you can do for yourself.

NAED Program — North Attleborough
In North Attleborough, heat pump rebates are offered through the North Attleborough Electric Department and apply to both ducted and ductless systems. These funds are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, often running out before December. Booking late in the fall can put you at risk of missing out.

BELD Clean Comfort — Braintree
Braintree homeowners can take advantage of the Clean Comfort program through the Braintree Electric Light Department, managed by Abode Energy Management. The program supports heat pump installation and ductless mini-split systems for homes heated with oil or electric resistance. If your home uses natural gas, you qualify instead through Mass Save via your gas account. Peach Heat & Cool handles the process for you, making it simple to claim rebates and upgrade your system.

Seasonal Heat Pump Electric Rate
Eversource and National Grid customers in Massachusetts who heat with a qualifying heat pump receive a reduced distribution rate every winter, from November 1 through April 30. Customers who installed a heat pump through Mass Save after January 1, 2019, should have been automatically enrolled and notified in October 2025. Check your electric bill for the code R1HP or R2HP in the delivery section to confirm enrollment. Licensed and Authorized to Install MRCOOL® Systems
Peach Heat and Cool is a licensed Massachusetts HVAC contractor and an authorized MRCOOL® dealer. That authorization matters. It means factory-trained technicians, access to proper technical support, and installations that keep the manufacturer warranty intact. An unauthorized installer voids that warranty the day the job is done.

Enrolled in the Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network

Only Quotes R-32 and R-454B Equipment
R-410A was removed from every Massachusetts rebate program on January 1, 2026. Any contractor quoting R-410A equipment is either unaware of the change or hoping you are. Every MRCOOL® system Peach Heat and Cool installs uses R-32 or R-454B refrigerant. Your rebate eligibility is confirmed before the equipment is ordered.

2026 Heat Pump & Mini-Split Incentive Updates
If you've been reading up on rebates, some of what you found is already out of date. Here's what actually changed, and if a quote you're holding ignores any of this, the numbers on it are wrong. Here's what Peach Heat & Cool wants you to know before signing any install contract.
Federal 25C Tax Credit Expired
The federal heat pump tax credit ended on December 31, 2025. Any installation in 2026 or later is not eligible. If a contractor still includes it in their savings, the numbers are inaccurate.
Mass Save Rebate Adjustments
Whole-home heat pump rebates dropped from $3,000 per ton to $2,650 per ton, and the maximum cap went from $10,000 to $8,500. Partial-home incentives were also reduced. Any estimate using 2025 figures is outdated.
R-410A No Longer Eligible
Rebates now only apply to R-32 or R-454B refrigerants. All MRCOOL® units Peach Heat & Cool installs comply with these requirements. Quotes referencing R-410A systems are no longer valid.
Clean Heat Standard Delayed
The Clean Heat Standard, initially slated for 2026, has been postponed to no earlier than 2028. Current rebate calculations should not include it.
Finance What Remains After Your Rebate at Zero Percent Interest
The Mass Save HEAT Loan makes covering the remaining costs after your rebates easy. With 0% APR, no fees, and no prepayment penalties, you can finance up to $25,000 over seven years.
Use it for heat pump installations, electrical upgrades, or weatherization work. If you're a TMLP or BELD customer, you might also qualify for similar 0% financing through your local utility program.

Heat Pump Rebates FAQ
It depends on your electric utility, not your town. If Eversource or National Grid provides your electricity, you are in Mass Save. If your town runs its own electric utility, you are in that town's MLP program instead. MLP towns in our service area include Taunton, Raynham (most addresses), Mansfield, North Attleborough, Braintree, Middleborough, and Lakeville. Check your electric bill or contact us, and we will confirm your program before quoting.
Yes, with one condition: the system has to provide both heating and cooling. Cooling-only
ductless units don't qualify under any program. A single-zone mini-split qualifies for the
Basic tier, and a multi-zone system heating most of the home can reach the Partial-Home or
Whole-Home tiers.
For Mass Save Whole-Home and Partial-Home tiers, an assessment is required to unlock the weatherization bonus and confirm weatherization eligibility. MLP programs require it before most rebates are processed. We coordinate it as part of the project.
Mass Save typically processes rebates within about eight weeks of receiving complete
paperwork. BELD runs closer to four to six weeks. Peach Heat and Cool submits everything
complete on the first pass, which is the main thing that keeps it from dragging.
Yes. The rebate is applied to your total project cost first. The HEAT Loan then covers your remaining out-of-pocket balance at 0% interest for up to seven years. Both are processed through Mass Save at the same time. They are designed to be used together.
