The Peach Heat and Cool Difference

Case Study · Massachusetts Church

When Traditional HVAC Wasn’t an Option, Ductless Made Sense

13 Two-Ton Mini-Splits, a Practical Installation, and a $4,000 Rebate

A Massachusetts church needed a better way to heat and cool its building without taking on the major work that a traditional ducted system would require. Peach Heat and Cool approached the project with a ductless design that could provide heating and cooling throughout the space while keeping the installation practical.

The Challenge

Church buildings can be difficult to condition. Large open spaces, high ceilings, and the structure itself can make traditional ductwork a major undertaking.

For this project, the church needed a heating and cooling system that could serve the building without forcing a large duct installation into the existing structure. Ductless mini-splits offered a much more practical route.

The Solution

What We Did

Peach Heat and Cool installed 13 ductless mini-split units, with each unit rated at two tons.

26 tons13 units × 2 tons each

Each bar is one two-ton ductless unit — capacity distributed throughout the building instead of forced through new ductwork.

The system gave the church dedicated heating and cooling throughout the building while avoiding the need for extensive ductwork. The installation was also designed around the building’s existing layout, allowing the church to upgrade its HVAC without turning the project into a major interior construction job.

The Savings

Mass Save Made the Upgrade Easier

The church’s installation cost was approximately $5,000, with a $4,000 rebate available for the qualifying project. That brought the church’s effective cost down to roughly $1,000 after the incentive.

The Takeaway

A Better Way to Approach a Difficult HVAC Building

Not every building gives you an easy place to run ductwork. Sometimes the better answer is to work with the building instead of trying to redesign it around the HVAC system.

Peach Heat and Cool specializes in ductless mini-split installations for spaces where conventional HVAC can be difficult to install, and the scope of our service goes beyond it.
